This August, President and founder of the Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan, Sensei Tamayose Hidemi will be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of his organisation.

Founded on May 22 1999, the Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan was formed in order to preserve and help spread the teachings of this important part of Okinawan history, and has spread worldwide across Europe, Canada, and now the United States.

Members will be gathering from across the globe to meet, celebrate, and take part in the first ever Tesshinkan event.   The Ocala Tesshinkan will be sending 8 of its current Black Belts to represent and compete for the United States in this first ever competition.

These members, Robby Bray (Sandan), Nick Carter (Sandan), Tom Hodges (Nidan), Anna Mohan (Nidan), Jeff Hawkins (Shodan) Dave Seltser (Shodan) Kim Rivers (Shodan), and Dawn Lasher (Shodan), will also be competing in the 2009 Okinawa Traditional World Tournament in Naha city Okinawa.  The Tournament will be from August 14th – 16th.
